About the YPI Fellowship

The YPI: Edu Leadership Fellowship, powered by EdChoice, is a leadership program designed to equip young professionals with the tools to understand education policy, lead impactful community conversations, and drive change that centers students and families—especially in underserved communities.

As part of this experience, fellows complete a capstone project focused on educational equity and school choice in their region.

Why We Created This Website

We are three YPI Fellows from Austin, Dallas, and Houston who recognized a shared concern:
Most families don’t have clear, trustworthy, or accessible information about school choice and how it affects them.

So we teamed up to create TexEd—a statewide resource made by Texans, for Texans—to help families:

• Understand what school choice really means

• Explore their education options with confidence

• Advocate for policies that support all students, not just a select few

Our goal is to make the complex education system easier to navigate—because you shouldn’t need to be a policy expert to advocate for your child’s future.
